Empty and decaying buildings are becoming an all too common site in towns and villages across Ireland. This situation is occurring at a time when affordable housing is in short supply, yet, many fine buildings which were once family homes sit vacant and more dilapidated with every passing year.
Broadford's 18th/19th century streetscape is generally well-kept and the occupied cottages and business premises are a credit to their owners and the village.
