The renovations of the village hall are well underway and can been seen to be taking shape from the outside, especially with the laying of new tarmacadam in recent days. What about inside though? So here's a sneak preview. Have to say, looking good!
Hopefully renovations will be completed in the next month - all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who have made this happen.

The village survey will be arriving to your door shortly. This is an opportunity for you to have your say on the future development of Broadford, Kilbane and Kilmore. The survey has been developed in a joint effort with the BCAG and other community groups along with the Clare Leader Development Company.
Paper copies of the survey will be distributed to every home in the parish over the next week or so. Copies are also available at Broadford Post Office, The Country Store, Broadford Primary School, Gunnings in Kilbane and the Wuthering Heights in Kilmore. Completed surveys can also be securely returned to these locations. Alternatively, you can complete the survey on-line - click here for the online survey. Please remember to click on 'submit' at the end of the survey to ensure that your survey reaches us. We’re asking you to think about the questions asked, talk about them with family, friends, neighbours, and then give us your thoughts. We encourage all residents – of all ages - to participate and we ask parents/guardians to support their children to complete a questionnaire. The deadline for completing the survey is Monday 29th April. The on-line link will be closed off at that point so that all results can be collected and examined to support the Broadford plan. Your response is confidential and we will hold further local conversations on the issues identified. hAs part of our efforts in to enhancing village bio-diversity, volunteers were out in force on Monday 8th April planting new trees. The trees were provided by Clare County Council, five of which have been planted along the riverbank walk behind the school and one other has been located in the grounds of St. Peter's Church. Thank you to Aonghus O'Brien and the pupils of Broadford National School for making another improvement in our environment which will stand to the village for many years to come. The Broadford U21's have their quarter-final match on Saturday and we want to see the lads clean-up on the hurling field so we are postponing the village clean-up to later in the spring. Good luck to the players and management.
Broadford village will be holding a Clean-Up day on Saturday 16th March. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to meet at the school at 11.am and organise in to working parties to start cleaning and tidying the village.
If you can't join us in the village then why not take timeout over the weekend to clean your local roads. Any rubbish collected can be left at the school for later disposal. Hope to see you Saturday. Thanks to the efforts of Broadford Community Action Group, Broadford parish has recently been
chosen as one of a number of communities across County Clare to participate in an area-based Community Development planning process. The planning process will take place under the sponsorship of the Clare LEADER programme which is managed by Clare Local Development Company (CLDC). Over the next nine months Broadford will be supported to prepare a three-year development plan, focused on the needs of the whole community and all people residing in Broadford, Kilbane and Kilmore. CLDC will provide a team of facilitators who will work alongside a planning group from the community and who will support the preparation of this plan for Broadford. An information meeting on the planning process will take place in Broadford National School at 7.00pm Tuesday, 12th March. This event will kick-start the planning process in Broadford. All interested parties from across Broadford, Kilbane and Kilmore – from our young residents up to our oldest - are invited to attend the meeting from which it is hoped to broaden the number of people involved in developing the plan for the parish. Please join us at the meeting - All welcome. The BCAG has today submitted a grant application to the Heritage Council under the “Adopt a Monument” programme.
